UML 11th National Congress Elects Office-bearers

KP Sharma Oli has been re-elected as the Chair of the CPN (UML) for a third term through the party’s 11th National Congress. Oli defeated his rival Ishwar Pokhrel in the election.

According to the party’s Central Election Commission, Oli secured 1,663 votes out of the 2,227 votes cast while Pokhrel received 564.

Shankar Pokhrel was elected as the party’s General Secretary, obtaining 1,228 votes against his competitor Surendra Prasad Pandey, who garnered 999 votes.

Similarly, the Congress of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has elected the party’s office-bearers.

According to the party’s Central Election Commission, Prithvi Subba Gurung secured 1,737 votes, Bishnu Prasad Paudel 1,675, Ram Bahadur Thapa 1,516 votes, Gokarna Raj Bista 1,368, and Raghuji Pant 1,258 votes to be elected on the posts of vice-chairperson.

Similarly, Lekhraj Bhatta garnered 1,452 votes, Raghubir Mahaseth 1,368 , and Yogesh Bhattarai 1,348 votes to win the election of the deputy general secretaries.

Likewise, Mahesh Basnet has won the election for the party’s new secretary with 1,544 votes. Others elected on the various posts of secretary are Chhabilal Bishwakarma (1,506 votes), Padma Kumari Aryal (1,530), Sherdhan Rai (1,503), Hikmat Kumar Karki (1,337), Khagaraj Adhikari (1,331), Yamlal Kandel (1,185) , Rajan Bhattarai (1,181) , and Bhanubhakta Dhakal ( 1,108 votes).
