Senior-Most MP KC Sworn In

President Ramchandra Paudel has administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected senior-most member of the House of Representatives, Arjun Narsingh KC at a special ceremony held at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas, today.    

Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, and Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal were present at the ceremony.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were ministers, newly elected MPs, heads of constitutional bodies, senior officials of the Government of Nepal, and the chiefs of security agencies.    
Preparations are underway to convene the parliament session following the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) Member held on March 5.

For this purpose, today the senior member of the House of Representatives, K.C., 78, has taken the oath. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Senior Member KC will administer the oath to the remaining 274 newly elected members of the House of Representatives tomorrow, Thursday.

Until the election of the new speaker, Senior Member KC will preside over the HoR meetings.  (RSS)
