Russia Strikes Ukraine’s Power Station Amid Trilateral Peace Talks
Russian air attacks struck Ukraine’s capital Kyiv and the northeastern city of Kharkiv, killing at least one person and injuring nearly 20 others, Ukrainian officials said, in a fresh wave of violence that occurred as peace negotiations resumed in Abu Dhabi.
The overnight strikes were described by Ukrainian authorities as “brutal,” with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemning the attacks as not only a blow to civilians but also to the ongoing diplomatic process.
Delegations from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States are meeting in Abu Dhabi for the second day of negotiations, in what has been described as the first trilateral talks since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The talks are based on a proposal backed by U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed at ending nearly four years of conflict.
Local authorities reported that the strikes on Kyiv and Kharkiv resulted in at least one death and roughly 20 injuries, with additional reports indicating 23 injured in total. (RSS)
