RSP General Convention: Election Schedule Made Public

The schedule of an election to be held under the first general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been published.

According to the party’s Central Election Commission, the preliminary name list of the general convention representatives was published on Saturday afternoon.

As per the schedule, the final name list of representatives will be published at 11:00 pm today. The distribution of nomination registration forms begins at 1:00 pm on Monday.

Nomination registration is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday while the list of candidates will be published at 6:00 pm.

The time from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm has been allocated for registering claims and objection against the candidates and such complaints will be investigated from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The final time for withdrawing the candidacy will be up 9:15 pm on Monday and it will be subsequently followed by the publication of the final name list of candidates.

The first round of voting is scheduled from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 23, for one central president and 99 central members. The vote counting and results announcements take place after two hours of the voting.

According to the Commission, the nomination fee for the post of party president is Rs 51,000, requiring one proposer and 51 supporters. Similarly, the nomination charge for party office-bearers is Rs 41,000 per post, demanding one proposer and supports from 21 representatives. For the post of central member, the nomination fee is Rs 21,000, with one proposer and 21 supporters for it.

There are a total of 4,211 representatives for the General Convention. (RSS)
