RSP Eyes Clear Majority in Proportional Representation Vote

Nepal’s ongoing House of Representatives elections, held on March 5, are showing a decisive lead for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) also in the proportional representation vote count.

According to the Election Commission, 232,045 votes have been counted so far.

The RSP has secured 125,703 votes, far ahead of its rivals: the Nepali Congress with 37,914 votes, the Communist Party of Nepal–UML with 28,553, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 10,954, and the Nepal Communist Party with 10,730.

These results indicate that the RSP, a relatively new political force in Nepal, is likely to achieve a clear majority in the proportional representation system.
