Qatar-Based Nepali Workers Receive Legal Guidance

Nepal’s embassy in Doha on Friday organised an awareness programme for Nepali workers, focusing on legal requirements, labour rights and financial literacy in Qatar.
Legal adviser Hamid Khan briefed participants on Qatari laws and regulations and highlighted potential risks Nepali workers may face during their stay in the Gulf state.
Labour Attaché Sita Duwadi provided information on Nepal’s labour laws, the labour approval process and benefits available through social security schemes. Second Secretary Smarika Subedi outlined passport and consular services offered by the embassy.
Representatives also discussed safe remittance practices, encouraging workers to use formal banking channels and warning of the risks associated with informal transfers.
Concluding the event, Chargé d’Affaires Kumar Rai urged Nepali workers to fully comply with Qatar’s labour laws.
