Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that his official visit to Thailand has strengthened bilateral relations between Nepal and Thailand, reaching a new height.
In a joint press conference with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra in Bangkok yesterday, PM Oli expressed confidence that the visit would boost cooperation in culture, tourism, education, and energy.
He highlighted the expansion of diplomatic and people-to-people relations, which have existed for 65 years.
PM Oli emphasized that Thailand’s investment in tourism sectors, including hotels and air services, would be prioritized.
Several agreements were signed during the visit, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation and an MoU for promoting trade between the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry FNCCI and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
Additionally, an MoU between Nepal Netrajyoti Sangh and Mahidol University was signed to enhance eye treatment services through joint programs in both countries.
This marks PM Oli’s first official visit to Thailand, where he also participated in the BIMSTEC summit
