Prime Minister Convenes High-Level Security Meeting in Baluwatar
Prime Minister Sushila Karki convened a high-level security meeting at her official residence in Baluwatar earlier today to assess the country’s current security situation and chart necessary measures, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal, and the chiefs of all four security agencies.
Security officials briefed the Prime Minister on the latest developments across the country, amid reports of political groups preparing for public demonstrations.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Home Minister Aryal said the government had conducted a “thorough assessment” of the security landscape.
“We have carefully analyzed the current situation. We have received information that several groups are preparing for demonstrations. Everyone has the right to express their political demands—but they must do so responsibly,” Aryal said.
He added that the government remains open to dialogue.
“The door for talks is open. The government is ready to engage with all concerned parties to address political issues through dialogue,” he noted.
