President Poudel Presents Government’s Policies and Programs

President Ramchandra Paudel has presented the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2025-26 in the joint session of the House of the Representatives and the National Assembly at the New Baneshwar-based Federal Parliament Building.
President Ramchandra Paudel said that the government was moving ahead with a common resolve keeping in mind the common minimum commitment and priorities of the coalition government at the time of its formation. “The government is committed to make every Nepali proud of their history and self-respect, struggle and sacrifice, change and achievements, to provide more hope and confidence in the state among the people, to increase economic mobility, to control corruption and to end impunity.” President Paudel said.
The President also said the incumbent government was determined to protect the achievements of far-reaching importance brought by the sacrifices, struggles and movements of the Nepali people by consolidating the federal democratic republic. He said that any kind of reactionary anarchic activities against the republican system would be resisted.
“The government is committed to fulfilling the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ with political stability, good governance, development and social justice, for socialism-oriented economic and social transformation based on democratic values as per the national needs and people’s aspirations,” president Paudel said on the occasion.
The government has set a target to provide clean drinking water to all Nepali citizens in the country by coming fiscal year. To achieve this goal as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), President Paudel said that the incumbent government will increase investment in the drinking water and sanitation sectors.
He further pledged to increase public’s access to clean drinking water by repairing drinking water projects that were damaged in disasters or defunct due to other reasons. The government will also prioritize completing the incomplete or under construction drinking water projects, the Head of the State appraised the parliament.
According to him, drinking water projects will be implemented in an integrated manner in the co-investment of local level government and consumer groups.
