President Paudel Says NTV World Should Be Nepal’s Global Ambassador

President Ramchandra Paudel has hoped the NTV World will promote Nepal’s cultural diversity and natural beauty on the global stage.

The President said this while speaking at a special ceremony marking PSB Nepal’s first anniversary and the formal launch of NTV World at the PSB premises in Singha Durbar.

Emphasizing that the platform should serve as a window to Nepal’s rich cultural, historical and natural diversity for the global audience, the President highlighted the importance of presenting Nepal’s authentic identity and values to the world through credible and creative broadcasting.

I believe the newly launched NTV World channel will bring Nepal’s cultural and religious dimensions to the world. It should highlight the country’s traditions, natural diversity and overall potential.” said President Paudel.

Addressing the same program, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel praised Radio Nepal and Nepal Television for their longstanding contributions to the broadcasting sector.

Minister Kharel remarked that PSB faces a crucial test in proving its effectiveness at a time when media organizations are facing numerous challenges.

The type of content PSB produces will be of great importance”. “PSB must demonstrate its impact through both presentation and accessibility.” Minister Kharel said

Minister Kharel further underscored the need for Nepali media to carefully consider what kind of content and narratives they offer to the world, ensuring that the country’s image is portrayed with authenticity and depth.

NTV World, a subsidiary project of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Nepal, has been envisioned as a 24-hour English channel aimed at promoting Nepal globally.

Initially launched on digital platforms, it will gradually evolve into a full-fledged broadcaster.

With the slogan “Nepal’s Perspective to the World,” the channel seeks to present accurate and balanced news and infotainment showcasing Nepal and the Nepali viewpoint to the international audience.
