NTV’s Senior News Editor Shivanee Mourns the Loss of Her Husband

Senior News Editor at Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Nepal and Content Co-Coordinator at NTV World Shivanee Thapa Basnyat has been bereaved of her spouse.

Serving Colonel of Nepal Army, Pukar Basnyat passed away this morning at the age of 46.

Late Colonel Basnyat was undergoing treatment at Medi City hospital in Kathmandu.

Late Basnyat was diagnosed with septic shock, the most severe form of sepsis where the body’s immune system overreacts to an infection.

Last rites of late Basnyat were performed today at Pashupati Aryghat with full military honor.

A band of Nepal Army offered final guard of honor to the departing Colonel. Late Basnyat is survived by his wife and a son.
