NTV World: We are On Air !

NTV World, a dedicated English channel of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB), Nepal has come into operation.

President Ramchandra Paudel inaugurated the channel during a grand ceremony marking the first anniversary and official opening of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) Nepal.

With the motto “Nepal’s Perspective to the World,” the channel aims to promote Nepal and Nepali culture on the global stage.

NTV World will broadcast four hours daily, from 19:00 HRS to 23:00 HRS local time.

Emphasizing a “Digital First” approach, NTV World will adopt multi-platform journalism and transmedia practices to connect audiences worldwide.

The channel will showcase local content from a local perspective while ensuring global access through its promotional digital platforms.

According to PSB Nepal Executive Chairperson Dr. Mahendra Bista, NTV World aims to broadcast English-language programs showcasing Nepal to international audiences, helping to promote the country’s identity globally.

The government’s plan to establish an English TV channel under Nepal Television had already been included in the Government of Nepal’s FY 2021/2022 budget.

Although the concept of public service broadcasting (PSB) dates back to the 1920s globally, it began to take shape in Nepal only after the restoration of democracy.
