NOC Sells LPG Gas at Five Kathmandu Locations

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) sells liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders at five locations across Kathmandu Valley on Saturday, as consumers face acute shortages of cooking gas.

The emergency sales are organized in coordination with the Kathmandu District Administration Office and LPG gas companies, according to the state-owned oil corporation.

The move is intended to provide immediate relief to households struggling to obtain cooking gas through regular distribution channels.

Consumers seeking to buy a cylinder must carry either their citizenship certificate or national identity card. Different LPG brands will be available at designated distribution points.

Sales will be conducted at the NOC premises in Teku, the Transport Management Office premises in Chabahil, the Radhaswami premises in Kirtipur and the former Kathmandu District Administration Office premises in Babarmahal, among the five designated locations.

NOC has urged only consumers facing an urgent need for cooking gas to visit the designated sites at the specified times with valid identification documents.

The corporation said LPG supplies have continued through regular dealers, but complaints from consumers unable to obtain cylinders have prompted the temporary arrangement.

The shortage has caused growing difficulties for households in the Kathmandu Valley, where LPG remains a primary source of fuel for cooking.
