Nepal’s President Issues Ordinance to Amend Nepal Special Services Act, 2042

President Ram Chandra Poudel has issued an ordinance to amend the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042, bringing the Investigation Department back under the Home Ministry.

The President made the move as per article 114, Clause (1) of the Constitution of Nepal that allows the President to issue ordinances when Parliament is not in place.

The move comes acting upon the Council of Ministers’ recommendation to amend the law.

The cabinet meeting had on 18th November decided to recommend to the President to issue an ordinance to amend the “Nepal Special Services Act, 2042”.
