Nepal’s HoR Election in Single Phase
Nepal’s Election Commission says the upcoming elections for country’s dissolved House of Representatives will be held in a single phase.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said the Commission is working diligently, analyzing all aspects, to ensure that the upcoming election on March 5, 2026 is conducted in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment.
He further mentioned that since political parties have already become active in participating in the electoral competition, an election atmosphere is being created across the country.
He informed that continuous discussions are being held with the government, political parties, and all four security agencies, which has ensured a positive environment for election security.
Bhandari also shared that while the number of old voters stood at 18.168 million an additional 800,000 new voters have been registered this time.
The Commission has announced that after verifying the newly registered voters, the final voter list will be published by late December to early January.
