Nepal Urges EU to Remove Air Safety Restrictions on Airlines

Nepal has once again urged the European Union to remove Nepali airlines from the EU Air Safety List, reaffirming that aviation safety reform remains a top national priority.

The appeal was made during the 16th EU–Nepal Joint Commission meeting held in Brussels.

Both sides noted positive progress in Nepal–EU relations, with discussions covering development cooperation, climate action, regional connectivity and investment.

The EU praised Nepal’s interim government for its focus on fiscal discipline and good governance.

Nepal also highlighted its commitment to completing the transitional justice process and advancing Sustainable Development Goals, while the EU pledged continued support as Nepal prepares to graduate from Least Developed Country status.

The next Joint Commission meeting will take place in Kathmandu next year.
