Nepal Receives First Autumn Snowfall: Weather Change Affects Tourists
Sudden change in weather pattern has dipped the mercury unexpectedly while affecting thousands of foreign and domestics tourists concluding their festival vacation trips across Nepal.
Tourists have been stranded in mountainous district of Manang traveling to Tilicho Lake and other higher locations, Mustang, and Gorkha among others.
Manang district in central north of the country saw excessive snowfall since last night due to which thousands of tourists have been stranded.

Weather Forecasting Division of the country, meanwhile, has predicted heavy snowfall over the next 24 hours warning tourists and trekkers to be alert.
Local authorities have issued directives to trekkers and travelers to be safe and wait for the weather to clear according to our local correspondent Navin Lamichhane.
The northern belt in another central district of Gorkha received snowfall since last light.
The local residents have said that snowfall is occurring in different sites of Chumnumbri Rural Municipality according to national news agency RSS.

Due to the snowfall, people are inside their houses. The villages receiving snowfall include including Nile, Chhule, Pangdun, Lar, Phurpe, Lamagaun, Burji, Jong, Chhekam and others above an altitude of 3,000 meters.
Likewise, Samagaun, Syala and Lho villages in the rural municipality are blanketed with the snow.
Meanwhile, the tourists and trekkers in the Manaslu region have been affected after the snowfall.
The tourists visiting Larke pass have stayed halfway after the snowfall in Manaslu region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the country, currently there is an impact of the westerly winds as well as the low-pressure system formed in the Arabian Sea, resulting in the generally cloudy situation across the country.
The Division stated that moderate snowfall and rainfall are likely in the hilly and mountainous regions of different provinces including Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali today.
Light rainfall is expected to occur in one or two places in the Tarai belt, that is in festive Chhath celebrations, today.
Likewise, heavy snowfall and rainfall are likely to happen in the hilly and mountainous parts in Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces today.
The Division stated that the weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces and partly cloudy in the Tarai belt tonight.

Similarly, there is the possibility of snowfall and rainfall in one of two places of the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.
There will be heavy snowfall and rainfall in one or two mountainous and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight, the Division stated in a bulletin today.
