Nepal PM Karki Summons Major Political Parties to Discuss Elections

Nepal Prime Minister Sushila Karki is convening a meeting of seven major political parties represented in the dissolved House of Representatives to discuss the upcoming national elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.

The dialogue, set for 4 pm Tuesday afternoon, aims to foster consensus on election preparations, according to the PM’s press coordinator Ram Rawal.

Each party has been asked to send two senior representatives to the meeting. Invitations have been extended to Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janamat Party, and JSP Nepal.

The discussions come as the interim leadership works to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process amid shifting alliances and growing public scrutiny.
