Nepal Launches 24/7 Health Service for Citizens Abroad

Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population has introduced a 24-hour health consultation service specifically for Nepali citizens working abroad.

Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki stated that the initiative aims to support migrant workers who often face challenges in accessing timely medical advice while overseas.

The service provides round-the-clock medical consultations, with a focus on kidney-related health issues, through Viber, IMO and WhatsApp.

For kidney-related queries, individuals can contact +977-9763490900, with consultations provided by the Shahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center.

General health consultations will be offered by Bir Hospital.

For other health concerns, the ministry has set up additional contact numbers: +977-9851345701 and +977-9851345702, accessible via Viber and WhatsApp.

Dr. Budhathoki highlighted that many Nepalis abroad fall ill and struggle to access professional guidance, which prompted the launch of this service.

To further support migrant workers, awareness messages on essential health information have also been placed at various points within Tribhuvan International Airport, helping travelers prepare before departure.
