Nepal Government Signs Pact with Gen Z
The government of Nepal has committed to recognizing the Gen Z movement and investigating human rights abuses and incidents of violence independently.
This commitment was made in an agreement signed on Wednesday evening at Singhadurbar between the government and representatives of various Gen Z organizations.
The agreement marks a major step toward transparency, accountability and inclusive governance, as promised by the interim government formed after the anti-corruption movement in Nepal in September.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Bhoj Bikram Thapa, representing those who attained martyrdom and those injured during the Gen Z movement, signed the pact.
The agreement also addresses issues such as corruption, banning partisan appointments, auditing officials’ assets and creating a high-level anti-corruption commission.
Also, the government has promised that upcoming elections will be conducted in a free, fair and fear-free environment.
