Missing Former Mayor of Kapilvastu Found Dead

Kiran Singh, a former mayor of Kapilvastu Municipality in southern Nepal, has been found dead after being reported missing on Friday.

Police said Singh’s body was discovered in a forest area near the motorcycle he had been using, after search teams spent several days looking for him.

The 65-year-old left his home in Kapilvastu Municipality around 2 p.m. on Friday, and CCTV footage later showed him traveling toward Ramraj Bridge.

Police said Singh contacted a close friend after reaching the bridge and reported that he had lost his way in the forest, prompting relatives and local residents to begin searching for him.

His motorcycle was located a day before his body was found, and police say an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
