Ministers Resign to Run for HoR Election

The Ministers are resigning to become the candidate in the upcoming election of house of representative, scheduled for March 5, 2026.

On Monday, Jagdish Kharel, Minister of Communication, Information, and Technology resigned from his post. Kharel stepped down to run for a parliamentary seat possibly, representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

He submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The RSP is fielding him as a candidate for the Election of House of Representatives from Lalitpur-2.

Earlier Sports Minister Bablu Gupta also resigned, and Energy Minister Kulman Ghising stepped down a few days ago.
