Last Proposal to Deuba from Special General Convention Team

The Special General Convention (SGC) faction of the Nepali Congress has presented 8-point proposal to the President Sher Bahadur Deuba. The proposal includes declaring Gagan Thapa, party General Secretary as the prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming election of house of representative schedule for March 5.

The eight-point states that president Deuba should step aside from executive roles, SGC should take ownership of the party. It also contains that the candidate for prime minister must be decided in advance, the party should participate in the electoral battle, special mechanism should be formed for the ticket distribution.

Similarly, a five-member committee should be formed to focus on elections.

Deuba should not be allowed to sign for tickets of candidates. Reports presented at the SGC should be taken as the party’s document.
