Lalitpur Metro Mayor’s Cup National Full-Contact Karate Tournament Concludes

The 5th edition of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor’s Cup National Full-Contact Karate Tournament 2082, organized by the Nepal Balkumari Kyokushin Karate Association, concluded on Falgun 1 and 2 at Mangalbazar, Lalitpur.

The association has been organizing this Mayor’s Cup tournament continuously since 2076 BS. A total of 150 male and 150 female athletes participated in the competition.

To ensure the smooth operation of the tournament, 50 personnel—including judges, managers, coaches, and volunteers—were mobilized. According to the organizers, the event was held with the objectives of promoting karate, enhancing the skills of athletes, and identifying new talent.

This year’s regular Ramji Guru Memorial Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000/- was awarded to Laxmi Thing (winner of the 55 kg women’s category). She was selected via a lucky draw from among the first-place winners of all weight categories.

Trophies, shields, medals, certificates, and cash prizes were distributed to the first, second, and third-place winners across all weight categories. Various cultural programs were also showcased during the event.
