Kathmandu District Officially Registered 976 Cases in a Month

A total of 976 cases were officially registered in the Kathmandu District during the month of Magh (January–February).

Of these, 159 cases were of a heinous and serious nature, according to Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhatta, spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu.

Similarly, 22 cases were related to women and senior citizens, while 466 involved financial crimes. During a special operation, 10 individuals were arrested for allegedly robbing citizens while riding motorcycles.

In the course of implementing court verdicts, a total fine of Rs 20.2 million was collected from 360 individuals. In connection with the current cases, 709 people were arrested, including 637 men.

Among cases concerning women and girls, 149 were related to domestic violence, and 49 of domestic violence were registered through direct complaints. Of these, 131 were resolved through arbitration, while 36 were settled through mediation, respectively. (RSS)
