Kami Rita Creates History: 31st Everest Summit

Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa summited Mt. Everest for the 31st time, extending his own world record.
Seven Summit Treks confirmed that Kami Rita reached the 8,848.86-meter summit at 4 a.m. on Tuesday via the northeastern route. A native of Solukhumbu, Kami Rita serves as a senior guide for Seven Summit Treks. He began his mountaineering career in 1992 and was born on January 2, 1970.
Kami Rita first summited Everest in 1994 guiding a commercial expedition and has made the peak almost ever year since. He scaled it twice some years, like in 2023 and 2024.
His closest competitor for the Everest record is fellow Nepali sherpa Pasang Dawa, who scaled the peak 29 times – the latest attempt made last week.
As per the Department of Tourism, the climbing season to scale the Mt Everest has concluded from today. Around 500 people scaled Mt Everest in this season, it is learnt.
