Japanese Encephalitis Claims Six Lives in Jhapa
The death toll from Japanese Encephalitis infection has been on the rise in Jhapa.
With the death of a 64-year-old woman from Mechinagar Municipality–8 due to Japanese Encephalitis infection, number of deaths has jumped to six in the district.
Public Health Inspector at the District Health Office, Bishwanath Shrestha, informed that the woman passed away last week.
With this, the number of JE cases in the district has reached 11.
So far, four women and two men have died.
Shrestha informed RSS that the office has expanded JE testing in various parts of the district and that health worker teams have been continuously deployed for monitoring. (RSS)
