Heavy Snow Disrupts Monitoring of Poll Centers in Nepal’s Manang District

Heavy snowfall has prevented election officials from monitoring several polling centers in Manang ahead of Nepal’s upcoming parliamentary elections.
Chief District Officer Navaraj Paudyal said monitoring teams have been unable to reach five polling stations in Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality due to extreme cold and difficult terrain.
The area requires a two-day walk from the district headquarters, Chame.
Officials confirmed that polling centers in Ngisyang Rural Municipality and Nason Rural Municipality have already been inspected.
Authorities are discussing contingency measures, including temporarily relocating polling stations if weather conditions do not improve.
Narpa Bhumi has 488 registered voters. District-wide, there are 7,000 registered voters , 3,623 women and 3,377 men , according to the District Election Office.
