Half a Million Displaced in Thai-Cambodia Border Clashes

Around half a million people have been displaced amid renewed clashes along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

The latest clashes stem from a long-running dispute over the colonial-era demarcation of the 800-kilometre (500-mile) frontier between the two Southeast Asian neighbours.

Both Cambodian and Thai officials report huge civilian displacement on each side of the border.

Relief agencies are working to provide food, medical aid and temporary shelter for those affected.

The conflict has heightened concerns about regional stability and the humanitarian impact of prolonged border tensions. (Agencies)
