Government Launches Public Budget Suggestion Portal

Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has launched a public suggestion portal aimed at ensuring direct citizen participation in the formulation of the upcoming fiscal year’s policies, programmes, and budget.
The digital platform has been introduced with the objective of making governance more transparent, participatory, and people-centric by incorporating citizens’ genuine needs and priorities into the government’s annual policy and programme, scheduled to be unveiled on Monday.
Through the portal, Nepali citizens residing both inside the country and abroad, along with experts and policymakers, will be able to submit recommendations directly to the government regarding budget formulation and national development priorities.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to expand policy-making beyond administrative structures and include public perspectives and expertise in the decision-making process.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the platform is expected to help bridge the gap between citizens and the state while promoting a new practice of participatory governance.
Authorities have stated that suggestions received through the portal will be reviewed seriously at the administrative level and considered in policy implementation.
The system also includes a “suggestion tracking” feature, allowing users to monitor the status of their submissions and view actions taken by the government in response.
The government has urged Nepalis to actively participate in the initiative and contribute constructively toward the national goal of building a “Prosperous Nepal.”
Citizens can access the portal through the official website of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and send their suggestions directly to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
