Former Mongolian PM Meets Nepal’s Foreign Minister to Boost Bilateral Relations

Mongolia’s former Prime Minister Gombojav Zandanshatar, who is Nepal visit, held talks with Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singhadurbar, on Monday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed Nepal-Mongolia in bilateral relations, geopolitical similarities, development, trade, partnerships and opportunities for cooperation in the promotion of Buddhist values and traditions.

Foreign Minister Khanal noted that Nepal and Mongolia Share many geopolitical scenario and said Nepal could learn from Mongolia’s experience. He expressed Nepal’s interest in expanding cooperation with Mongolia in the areas of development, trade, partnerships and promoting the Buddhist Values and rituals.

Minister Khanal also stated that Nepal government is keen to deepen its relationship with Mongolia as a spiritual partner. He also reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to advancing cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.

During the meeting, former PM Jandanshatar stated that the small countries like Nepal and Mongolia should stand together in the evolving global order. He noted that the two nations share common Buddhist values and cultural traditions, describing them as each other’s spiritual neighours. He expressed Mongolia’s interest in cooperating with Nepal in promoting Buddhist values, preserving cultural heritage, supporting the development of Chess in Nepal.
