EC Cancels Resham Chaudhary’s Candidacy

The Election Commission has canceled the candidacy of Resham Chaudhary, who had filed his nomination from Kailali Constituency No. 1 representing the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
The Commission took the decision after investigating a complaint filed against Chaudhary’s candidacy, concluding that his nomination was invalid.
Complaints had earlier been lodged against the candidacies of five individuals.
According to the election schedule, candidates are allowed to withdraw their nominations tomorrow between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.
The final list of candidates is scheduled to be published on the same day between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Election symbols will be allocated on tomorrow itself. The House of Representatives election is scheduled to be held on March 5.
Based on information received from the offices of 77 Chief Election Officers and 88 Election Officers nationwide, a total of 3,487 candidacies have been registered. Of them, 3,089 are men, 396 are women, and one candidate is from the third-gender category.
