CoAS Open Marathon 2082 Held

The Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Open Marathon 2082 held this morning at the Army Headquarters in Kathmandu.

Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel today inaugurated the competition which also featured a Run for Fun event.

Competitions was held across five categories: a 42.195 km men’s marathon, a 21 km half marathon for both men and women, a 10 km running race, a 5 km run for students of grades 7–9 and a 5 km walkathon.

Winners of the marathon will receive cash rewards.

The event, held under the theme “Strong Unity, Safe Nation” also included participation from military officers, enlisted personnel, staff of the Military Academy, retired and serving personnel and children of non-military families in grades 10–12.

This year marked the 11th edition of the marathon, which has been organized annually since 2016 on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri and Army Day.

Around 2,500 runners took part across the five categories.
