‘China in My Eyes’ Through Young Minds

The 8th “China in My Eyes” Painting Competition Award Ceremony was held in Kathmandu on Thursday, promoting creativity, cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Nepal and China.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming attended the event as the chief guest, alongside Budhanilkantha Municipality Mayor Mitharam Adhikari, officials from the Chinese Embassy, representatives from the Education Department of Budhanilkantha Municipality, the ward chairperson, school principals, teachers, parents and students.
The competition encouraged young learners to express their perspectives on China through paintings.
Students from 16 schools participated in the event, which sought to foster friendship, cultural understanding and educational exchange between the two neighbouring countries.
The programme also highlighted Chinese language learning as part of an international language curriculum, with students studying the language under native Chinese teachers while gaining exposure to China’s history, traditions, festivals, art and culture.
Organisers said the initiative highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and mutual respect between Nepal and China through education and cultural exchange.
