Chief Minister Karki Wins Vote of Confidence

Chief Minister of Koshi Hikmat Kumar Karki has secured a vote of confidence in the Koshi Provincial Assembly today.
Provincial Assembly members of the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Communist Party voted in favour of Chief Minister Karki’s proposal seeking a vote of confidence of the Assembly. He received 57 votes including 40 from his party UML and 17 of the NCP.
Provincial Assembly members of the Nepali Congress voted against him. Out of 29 members of the Nepali Congress, 22 votes were cast against Karki. Five members of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party remained neutral.
The only provincial assembly member of the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nirmala Limbu, did not attend today’s meeting.
A total of 83 members participated in the voting. The next meeting of the Provincial Assembly will be held at 1:00 PM tomorrow. (RSS)
