Car Knocks Two Children To Death

Two children have died after being struck by a car on the Prithvi Highway in western Nepal, police said.

The accident occurred at Markichok in Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 of Tanahun district, when a car registered in India hit the children as they were walking home from school on Friday afternoon.

The victims were identified as six-year-old Sayana Thapa and five-year-old Uliyam Thapa, both residents of Aanbukhaireni-2.

They sustained critical injuries and died during treatment at a hospital in Chitwan on Saturday morning.

Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
