Bipin Joshi’s Mortal Remains Returned to Nepal
The mortal remains of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who was killed in the Hamas attack in Israel, arrives in Kathmandu Tuesday afternoon. A solemn ceremony was held at Tribhuvan International Airport, where Prime Minister Sushila Karki led the tributes to the late Joshi.
Dignitaries including Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal and Israeli Ambassador Shmulik Arie were among those who paid their respects. Joshi’s body was flown to Kanchanpur on Monday for his final rites.
The repatriation was facilitated through the joint efforts of the Nepali Embassy in Israel and the Israeli government. Joshi had been held hostage in Gaza after the October 7 attack, which claimed the lives of 10 other Nepali students. His death was officially confirmed by Israel on October 14, 2025.
