Bhaktapur Declared as District Achieving Full Immunization Status

Bhaktapur district has been declared a fully vaccinated district after all the children in the district eligible for vaccination, that is, 10,743 children, have completed all their vaccinations.
At the programme organized by the District Public Health Office in Madhyapur Thimi, Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa Magar declared Bhaktapur district as a fully vaccinated district and handed over the certificate related to this to the Office.
On that occasion, Province Minister Thapa said that the vaccination programme has not only saved children’s lives but also laid the foundation for building a healthy society.
He stated that a budget has been allocated for expanding cardiology services at Bhaktapur Hospital, a budget of Rs 150 million has been earmarked for installing a state-of-the-art MRI machine at Khwopa Hospital, and developing Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital as a trauma centre.
Suresh Shrestha, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Bagmati Province, mentioned that Bhaktapur Hospital has been recognized as one of the outstanding hospitals in the country.
Dr. Sumitra Gautam, Secretary of Bagmati Province Health Ministry, expressed the view that since the declaration of full vaccination coverage has reduced child mortality by about 80 percent each year, maintaining its sustainability is a big responsibility.
Head of the Public Health Office Bhaktapur, Anjana Khadka, shared on the occasion that 5,050 children from birth to 16 months and 5,684 children from 16 to 23 months in the district have received all the necessary vaccinations completely. (RSS)
