At Least Four Killed in Bus Accident in Kathmandu

At least four people were killed and 40 others injured in a bus carrying picnic passengers met with an accident in Shankharapur Municipality-3 of Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.

Among the deceased, identity of one has been confirmed as Shanti Gupta, 55, while others’ have yet to be established.

The accident occurred at around 6 pm on Fedi road as a bus belonging to Metro travel with the registration number BA 4 8788, was travelling from Jarsingpauwa to Shankhu.

The bus reportedly veered off the road and plunged nearly 100 meters down the road.

According to Kathmandu Police, the bus was returning from Picnic organized by Nature hub organization.

The injured passengers have been taken to eight different hospitals in Kathmandu for treatment, said Superintendent of Police, Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
