At least 31 Killed in Explosion at Islamabad Mosque

At least 31 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in an explosion at a mosque in Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad.
According to AFP, local officials stated that the explosion was occurred at a Shiite mosque during Friday prayers.
The district administration spokesperson said that the number of injured had reached 169.
The cause of incident was not clear, however reports have indicated that it was a suicide bomb attack.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the incident, expression “deep grief”.
Islamabad’s deputy commissioner Irfan Memon said on X that the death toll had risen to 31, while a police source told news agency AFP that the numbers were “expected to rise further”.
