All-party Meeting: Decision to Maintain Social Harmony

An all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office, Sunsari, on Monday afternoon decided to appeal to everyone to maintain social harmony.

The meeting, chaired by Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sunsari, Basudev Ghimire, decided that all sides would make effective efforts to keep peace and security in the affected areas regarding the incident that occured in Kaptanganj of Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3.

The local administration has currently imposed a curfew in Dewanganj, Ghuski, Kaptanganj, Bhutaha, and Harinagara Bazaar areas from 7:00 am.

Assistant CDO Lamichhane said that the administration has deployed necessary security personnel to prevent any untoward incidents in the affected areas, and that normal life there is gradually returning to normal.

A 24-year-old man, Om Prakash Mehta, who was injured by a gunshot during a clash between two groups in Kaptanganj last night following a dispute, died during treatment.

The meeting was attended by representatives of major political parties in the district, heads of security agencies, and other concerned stakeholders.
