Alert Issued Over Risk of Another Flood in Rasuwa
Nepal Flood Alert has issued a warning notice of a possible new flood in Rasuwa district following the massive floods reported on Wednesday.
According to the alert, the warning was relayed by China through Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs after an analysis of satellite images and a preliminary assessment.
The alert states that a lake has formed due to the accumulation of water blocked by debris and other obstructions followed by Rasuwa floods. The water level in the lake is reportedly rising, increasing the risk of a sudden burst and subsequent flooding.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged residents and those in potentially affected areas to remain alert, stay safe and follow the safety instructions and protocols issued by the government.
