Discussion on Budget Principles in House from May 18

Discussion on the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill for the upcoming fiscal year, excluding tax proposals, has been scheduled for May 18, 19 and 20 in the House of Representatives.

During the second meeting of the House held on Thursday, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle presented the proposal, after which Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal allocated the dates for discussion based on party representation.

Speaker Aryal asked lawmakers wishing to participate in the discussion to submit their names to the Business Advisory Committee at least one hour before the May 18 meeting begins.

The House Speaker also directed officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Parliament Secretariat to take detailed notes during the discussion.

Although the agenda for Thursday’s meeting included a proposal by Ganesh Parajuli, chairperson of the House Regulations Drafting Committee, to deliberate on the committee’s report, the item was removed from the day’s agenda.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 18.
