Nine Killed as Cruise capsize in India’s Madhya Pradesh

In the central-Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, a cruise vessel carrying tourists suddenly capsized in the reservoir of the Bargi Dam in Jabalpur.
The death toll in the cruise boat capsize incident in Jabalpur has risen to 9.
The accident occurred Friday evening when a cruise boat carrying 39 passengers sank in Bargi River near Khamaria Island after being caught in a sudden violent storm and rough waves.
Twenty-eight people have been rescued safely, while 4 tourists are still missing. The cruise, which had sunk to a depth of nearly 20 feet, has been successfully brought to the shore.
Teams from SDRF, Police and Home Guards are jointly carrying out relief and rescue operations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to the capsizing of a boat in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
In a social media post, the Prime Minister said, local administration is assisting those affected.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over the tragedy and conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
He said, an inquiry has been ordered into the matter. He stressed that it was observed in the accident that some people had not worn their life jackets properly.
The Chief Minister also stated that the swift response of NDRF and SDRF personnel saved many lives
