New Work Culture in Practice at Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has implemented a new code of conduct with the aim of making service delivery more effective.

According to the new arrangement applied to all employees working in the ministry and its subordinate bodies, any work that comes to an employee’s desk or system must be completed on the same day, or if not possible on that day, it must be compulsorily completed the next day.

Ministry’s Joint Secretary Subas Chandra Shivakoti said this arrangement will hold employees accountable to complete the assigned responsibilities promptly and efficiently.

If the work cannot be completed within the time specified according to the new policy, the concerned employee must immediately inform their supervisor. The head of the office has been made responsible to ensure this provision by having all employees sign a commitment letter to make this arrangement effective.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has instructed its subordinate bodies to also adopt frugality in the use of resources. (RSS)
