Rain Continues in Kathmandu; Meteorologists Urge Caution

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has been ongoing in Kathmandu for some time. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that strong winds are currently affecting Kathmandu Valley as well as various other parts of the country. Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokhrel stated that the winds may intensify further.

The department has warned that such weather could cause trees along roads to fall, electricity and telephone poles to collapse, wires to snap, and tin or metal roofs to be blown away.

In this situation, the department has urged the general public not to travel in risky areas and to stay in safe locations until the storm subsides.

Since school buses are operating, parents and concerned authorities have been asked to pay special attention to the safety of students.
