Chitwan Reports 20% Voter Turnout in First 4 Hours of Polling

Chitwan District in central Nepal recorded a 20 percent voter turnout within the first four hours of voting, according to District Election Officer Bhimsen Karki.

Officials reported that polling has been proceeding peacefully since voting began earlier in the day. Authorities have not reported any major disruptions at polling stations so far.

A total of 442,282 voters are registered in the district. In this election, 64 candidates are contesting across three constituencies in Chitwan, making it one of the closely watched districts in the region.

Election officials say they expect voter participation to increase steadily as polling continues throughout the day.
