Favorable Weather Encourages Voting in Nepal’s Himalayan Areas

Voting for Nepal’s House of Representatives elections is underway across several mountainous districts, with favorable weather helping ensure strong voter participation.

Local correspondents reported sunny conditions in districts such as Mugu District, Rukum District, Dolpa District and Humla District, where voters have been participating enthusiastically.

According to Chief District Officer Junu HamalIn Dolpa District voting has begun at 65 out of 70 polling centers.

Authorities said polling has started smoothly with encouraging turnout.

Police officials said however, voting has not yet begun in several remote villages of Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality including Ku, Karang, Phot, Bhijer and Pugmo due to extreme cold.
