EC Grants Official Recognition to Gagan-Led Nepali Congress

The Election Commission of Nepal has granted the official recognition of the Nepali Congress to the working committee elected through Special General Convention, held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu from January 11 to 13.

A meeting of the Commission held on Friday evening decided to endorse the Gagan Thapa-led working committee as the legitimate NC party.

According a source at the commission, with this decision, Thapa has become the new president of the Nepali Congress, along with its symbol, the tree and the four-star flag.
