Runners took part in the Red Panda Marathon on Tuesday, a challenging race held from Chokbazaar of Ilam headquarters at an altitude of 1,220 meters to Sandakpur Danda in the Nepal–India border area, which stands at 3,610 meters above sea level.

The marathon was organized by Dipjyoti Youth Club and witnessed the participation of 83 athletes from Nepal and India.

The event aimed to promote sports tourism, environmental awareness and conservation of the endangered red panda found in the region.
